The
latest round of Motorkhana was conducted at the Millicent Sale
yards on the 27th July. The day was expected to be very wet and
cold. But, apart from a very light shower of rain, the
competitors were blessed with a relatively dry day.
As the event went very smoothly,
competitors were able to get in some extra runs, resulting in 20
courses, with some being used twice. Congratulations to
all drivers on their runs. Is great to see the way the juniors
are improving their times and skills. They are starting to put
pressure on the senior drivers.
Although I threatened to impose a 5 second
penalty on all who were smiling, no one took any notice, so they
must have enjoyed their day.
I would especially like to thank all
officials who gave up their time to help out. Thanks also to the
canteen helpers, who provided hot food all day; a great job
girls and boys. A special thanks to two friends of mine and
Helen’s who always give us a hand, (they aren’t even members but
enjoy our sport) a special Thank you. Perhaps some of you
members who sit back and watch might take note.
Again, congratulations to all competitors,
I personally had a ball.
Regards
