KHANACROSS SERIES 2010

 

SUPPLEMENTARY REGULATIONS

ROUND 2            14th MARCH                     2010.

 

1. THE EVENT: The event shall be known as Round 2 of the "SEAC KHANACROSS SERIES 2010", herein after to be known as the event. The event will be conducted at SEAC Park, Megaw Road, Compton. The event will be organized and promoted by the South Eastern Automobile Club of South Australia Inc, P.O. Box 1551, Mount Gambier, and is open only to current members of the SEAC who are holders of a CAMS level 2NS or 2NSJ Licence or superior. 

 

2. AUTHORITY: The event will be conducted under the provisions of the International Sporting Code of the FIA, the National Competition Rules (NCR) of the Confederation of Australian Motorsport Ltd (CAMS), the Khanacross Regulations and Group 4H Regulations, "Khanacross Series 2010" Standing Regulations, the Guidelines for Passengers in Vehicles, these Supplementary Regulations and any Further Regulations or Instructions, which may be issued. Personal Accident Insurance has been covered in the CAMS Licence or the competitor and Public Risk Insurance has been effected with the Permit Fee paid by the Organisers.

This Event will be conducted under and in accordance with CAMS OH&S and Risk Management Policies, which can be found on the CAMS website at www.cams.com.au

 

Insurance for this event will be provided in accordance with Appendix I of the current CAMS Manual.

5. ENTRIES:            OPEN                          4:00pm 9th March 2010.

CLOSE             6.30pm on the 11th March 2010.

VENUE             SEAC Park, Megaw Road, Compton

Scrutineering                14th March from 9am to 10am

Drivers Briefing            14th March at 10:15am

Event Start                14th March at 10:30am

The entry fee is $25.00 for adult drivers and $12.00 for junior drivers.

All entry fees include 10% GST.

ALL LOCAL ENTRIES MUST BE IN THE CLUB OFFICE BY 6:30PM THURSDAY 11th MARCH.

Cheques are to be made payable to the SEAC and addressed to the "Event Secretary".

The maximum number of competitors shall be 40, chosen from the first 40 in order of receipt of completed and fully paid entries.

 

6. RUNNING DETAILS: Scrutineering will be conducted between 9.00am and 10.00am on the day of the event at the venue.

Documents to be presented at scrutineering are Current CAMS licence, current membership card, competition record and log book (if issued)

Drivers briefing will take place at 10.15am. Competition starts at 10.30 a.m. 

The rotation of the field will be notified at the drivers briefing.

 

7. DRIVERS: All drivers must wear appropriate footwear. Drivers of vehicles without windscreens must wear appropriate eye-protection as per CAMS requirements. All drivers must wear a helmet complying with Schedule D of the General Requirements in the 2010 CAMS Manual. All Drivers must attend the Drivers briefing.

 

8. JUDGES OF FACT: An Official/s shall be appointed to be the judge of fact, whose duty it is to decide when or whether an automobile has touched or passed a given line. Judges of Fact will be the Clerk of Course, Stewards, Timers, Starters & Observers.

 

9. REFUSAL OF ENTRY: As per the NCR83 an Entry for a competition held under these rules, other than an International Competition, may be refused in accordance with the Supplementary Regulations relating to such competition, prior to the meeting and within three days after the date set for the close of entries.

 

10. VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS: As per the Khanacross Regulations, Schedule A and Group 4H regulations. Competitors are reminded that a fire extinguisher of at least 900g complying with Schedule H of the NCR's must be fitted.

 

11. TYRES: Only street tyres are permitted. No bar treads, block treads, winter treads, off road aggressive type treads or tyres with a square shoulder will be permitted. No traction additives will be permitted. Spare tyres, which may be used during the event, shall be scrutinized along with the vehicle.

 

12. PASSENGERS: Novice and junior competitors may request a CAMS Licensed SEAC member as a passenger. Passengers must sign a “Passenger Indemnity Form”, and comply with section 8 of these supplementary regulations regarding apparel and vehicle safety requirements.

 

13. CLASSES: Classes for the "Khanacross Series 2010" shall be,

Class A;            production cars             up to                 1300cc

Class B;            production cars 1301cc              1600cc

Class C;            production cars 1601cc              2000cc

Class D;            production cars 2001cc              and over

Class F;                        Specials                        all specials inc. fwd, rwd, eod and ead.           

Class J;             Juniors 

Class L;            Ladies

Class M;            Ladies specials

Notes, 1. Juniors are defined as being over 14 years but less than 18 years of age on the day of the first round (February 27th). Juniors between the ages of 14yrs and 16yrs must have Motorkhana (or other motor sport) competition experience.

            2. Novices are defined as competitors in their first year of competition.

            3. All Persons driving a Special will compete in the special class F.

            4. Competitors may compete in two vehicles on two classes providing they have paid two entry

fees.

 

14. METHOD OF SCORING: Placing’s shall be decided on the aggregate of elapsed time on the

 tests completed, plus any penalties. The winner/s shall be the driver/s having the lowest aggregate,

 including any penalties, at the completion of the event. In the case of equal scores, the tied

 competitors shall be declared joint winners.

           

15. AWARDS: 1. A "Series Champion Award" will be presented to the competitor with the greatest number of "fastest times of the day" during the series.

2. Aggregate series class awards will be made for first, second & third, providing competitor numbers justify such awards.

 

 

 

 

16.VARIATIONS TO KHANACROSS REGULATIONS: Procedure & Penalties.

(a) Clause 13.4 (viii) which deals with penalties for 'striking a marker', is varied with the addition of the words, "and significantly displaced from its original position".

(b) Clause 13.4 (IV) that deals with reversing after crossing a designated finish line, the penalty is

changed to "plus five seconds".

(c) Every marker knocked carries a separate penalty of "plus 5 seconds".

(d) Diagrams may be provided for each course.

 

17.  CATERING: Will be available at the venue.

 

18. PROTESTS: Any protest shall be lodged in accordance with part XII and Appendix R of the NCR.

 

19. ABANDONMENT: The organisers reserve the right to postpone, cancel or abandon the event under the provision of NCR 59.

 

20. COME & TRY:  These participants will not be timed as per CAMS Regs.

21. USE OF PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES

 

During any event, consumption of alcoholic beverages in the paddock, pits or any other portion of the competition venue under the control of the officials is expressly forbidden until all practice or competition activity is concluded for each day.  Any driver or crew member who is found to be affected by alcohol on the day of the event or practice therefore shall not be permitted to participate.  Refer NCR 145A of the Current CAMS Manual. In addition, the persons concerned will be subject to the Articles of the Procedure for Alcohol Testing and CAMS Anti-Doping Policy. Competitors, crews or officials may be tested for alcohol or other drugs at any time during the event(s).  This regulation serves as the required 24-hour notice to Competitors, Crew and Officials.

 

Other Prohibited Substances

 

The CAMS Drugs in Sport Policy, as appears in the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport and as amended from time to time, is recognised as an integral component of the NCR and is duly authorised as such.

 

In any areas where the National Competition Rules and the Drugs in Sport Policy conflict, the Drugs in Sport Policy will take precedence.
